Beech Mountain |
Beech Mountain is
located approximately 5 miles from Banner Elk
and is home to Ski Beech, which offers 15 slopes
for skiing or snowboarding and a 375 foot tube
runs, as well as an outdoor ice skating rink. In
the winter, the town offers free sledding for
children of all ages on a lighted hill next to
the town hall.
Beech Mountain is located 5,506 feet above sea
level and always provides a calm, cool
atmosphere. Although winter provides a number of
activities, summer, spring and fall are also
enjoyable seasons here. The Beech Mountain Golf
Course and other area courses provide top-notch
golfing. The area also boasts several tennis
courts and swimming pools. Hiking trails with
views of the Blue Ridge are also popular among
visitors and residents alike. With so many area
attractions and outdoor activities just a short
drive away, Beech Mountain has it all.
